Inviato: ven lug 22, 2005 1:49 pmCome al solito in Italia le mode arrivano 30 anni dopo. A me tutti 'sti rapper caserecci che scimmiottano i neri (che a loro volta scimmiottano i grandi rapper neri) mi fanno veramente pena, e con loro tutti i pischelli che gli vanno dietro.
Per? il fenomeno rap, alla nascita, era tutt'altra cosa. Quando ero all'universit? avevo un amico (ora medico apprezzato) che mi faceva ascoltare i primi rapper, tipo Africa Bambaata and the Soul Sonic Force, che erano roba seria.
Tant'? vero che anche Max Roach, noto anche per la cultura musicale, l'impegno civile e l'apertura mentale, ha registrato un disco con un rapper:
Fab 5?s parents were active in the community and the Civil Rights movement. His father was in the room when Malcolm X, the famous civil rights activist, was assassinated by a sniper. His father also worked closely with the renowned jazz drummer, Max Roach, and, as a result, Freddy ended up being the first person to introduce the jazz great to hip-hop. When Fab 5 Freddy started rapping at house parties, in the parks, and at night clubs with some of the founding DJs such as Grand Master Flash, word of this new hip-hop movement got back to Max Roach, and he asked Freddy?s father to have Freddy show him what he was doing with his friends. Freddy took them to his DJ?s house and did his thing, in the old Master Of Ceremonies style. Max was greatly impressed, comparing the new style of music to what he himself was doing with Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, and the like when jazz broke off from big band, which was quite an honor for Fred.
"They had all this talent, and they had no instruments. So they started rap music. They rhymed on their own. They made their own sounds and their own movements."

sempre di Guru, assieme a DJ Premier, ? il progetto GangStarr, autore anche della musica di Mo' Better Blues, fantastico film sul Jazz di Spike Lee.

hai ascoltato i Black Eyed Peas, ad esempio?
hai sentito i loro live, o i loro cd?sono tutti suonati, e da musicisti con i controcazzi....tral'altro, con collaborazioni di gente del calibro di Jack Johnson, Sergio Mendez, James Brown e Sting!!
e fanno dei concerti spettacolari, molto pi? "live" di altri artisti!
fanno anche l'assolo di batteria, per la nostra gioia
e che assolo.... 
poi potranno non piacerti, tanti di questi musicisti (e parlo di musicisti, non di quei "modelli col microfono in mano" che vedi su MTV), ma mi sembra che tu sia un po' ignorante in materia, ed ? brutto giudicare senza conoscere!

in uno si parla di un genere musicale molto vasto, nell'altro si parla di un singolo personaggio, del quale peraltro sono informato, che ha fatto ben poco, oltre al suo ridicolo record di velocit?.......
