DW® AQUIRES AMERICAN PERCUSSION BRANDS FROM FENDER®
Drum Workshop, Inc. and Fender Musical Instruments have finalized an asset sale agreement to purchase owned and licensed percussion brands including Latin Percussion®, Toca® Percussion, Gretsch® Drums, Gibraltar Hardware and KAT® Percussion from Fender’s KMC subsidiary. Ovation® Guitars, and exclusive U.S. distribution rights for Sabian® Cymbals are also included in the transaction.
“This is an amazing opportunity to extend our passion and commitment for the art of drumming,” said Chris Lombardi, President and CEO of Drum Workshop, Inc. We’re excited to welcome these legendary American brands to the DW family.”
Founded in 1972, the family owned and operated manufacturing company also boasts the award-winning DW Drums brand, as well as Pacific Drums and Percussion® (PDP). Details of the purchase are forthcoming, however it has been announced that DW Drums manufacturing operations will remain in California, Gretsch drum production will continue in South Carolina and LP’s offices will stay in New Jersey.

Il buon Good si è fatto in colpo solo il know how storico Gretsch, le meccaniche Gibraltar, le batterie elettroniche KAT, le percussioni Toca e Latin Percussion...come direbbero a Wall Street: minchia!

ha comprato anche la fender? Scusate ma la fender aveva la gretsch? Non ci sto capendo più nulla, saresti in grado di spiegare chi ha chi? Nel senso quali aziende hanno acquistato altre aziende, altrimenti non riesco davvero a capire cosa vado ad acquistare...

noo, la Gretsch no, sono batterie che mi piacciono davvero, speriamo non le snaturino come le DW che saranno belle e performanti ma diversissime dalle Gretsch!!
ma la DW ha anche la Basix o Drumcraft che dir si voglia giusto?
Poi giusto x sapere, la Premier è sempre Premier giusto?

Da quel che si legge Bsx (Basix) e Drum Craft sono proprietà GEWA che a sua volta distribuisce DW in molte nazioni, per quanto riguarda Premier non saprei, credo che sia un brand che non appartenga a distributori o altri marchi..credo..

insomma, non si capisce "chi abbia comprato chi" e "chi sia stato comprato da chi"
...poco importa.
potranno anche comprarsi a vicenda queste aziende
ma tanto tutti sanno che in testa alla piramide ci sono e ci saranno sempre gli illuminati

Attenzione: la Gretsch in quanto azienda ancora appartiene a Fred Gretsch III, la KMS possedeva diritti di commercializzazione e distribuzione e sono questi che ora sono passati in mano DW.
Resta comunque probabile che la cosa potrebbe avere delle ripercussioni nelle linee di produzione di entrambi i marchi; a mio modesto avviso sono anni che Gretsch è ben lontana dai fasti del suo glorioso passato, questa operazione (sulla carta) non può che giovargli.

All'inizio mi sono spaventato, poi ho iniziato a seguire il discorso di paolo e... eh si, non credo che possa fare male a Gretsch che DW gli da una spintarella a rimettersi sul trono.

Bene, visto che tra una tetta e l'altra spunta anche qualcuno a cui la cosa interessa ( ) vi riporto una riflessione di Ronn Dunnett sull'argomento:

Direi che l'arringa sul "Gretsch sound"...rende l'idea!

Stamattina ho chiesto informazioni su una Gretsch e mi è stato detto che ad oggi non c'è nessun distributore per l'Italia, possibile? Se si vuole ordinare qualcosa bisogna aspettare forse mesi solo per sapere chi le distribuirà o prendere i pronta consegna dei negozi, avete qualche news?
