Slayer was one of the first American meta bands to use skank beats, along with Dark Angel, Testament, Exodus, and Forbidden. In fact, Slayer started out as more of a punk band and fused that with the American thrash scene.
Most of us were not using the term skank until recent years. It was Iabeled the “Slayer” beat or “thrash” beat after the genre of music established itsef in the U.S. at that time.
