Lenny Kravitz gets back in the groove and re-teams with Zoro for ?Baptism? World Tour
Los Angeles, CA

Lenny Kravitz and top R&B drummer Zoro are back together after an 11-year break for a world tour in support of Kravitz?s seventh forthcoming album, ?Baptism.?

Rekindling a relationship that started when both artists were 16 years old, Zoro re-takes the throne he held as Kravitz?s original drummer when they broke the rock scene open in 1989 with ?Let Love Rule? and ?Mama Said? in 1991.

?Baptism,? released May 18, marks a return to roots for Lenny Kravitz, and in that spirit he has called his old friend Zoro back to inspire audiences together with the funk, subtly, and power that defined their legendary live shows of the late 80s and early 90?s.

?Zoro?s drumming brings a spirit and level of musicianship to the live show that greatly inspires me,? said Kravitz from their Miami rehearsal studios. ?As for the change, I simply wanted to return to my roots and Z was a big part of that, we grew up together and have the same diverse musical background and are both still huge music fans who have not lost our enthusiasm.

He understands all my musical languages and speaks them fluently and there are few that do. Having Z back in the drum chair is like wearing your most an enormous respect for the character of my music and plays it authentically with respect and passion. He?s the minister of groove and it?s great having him back.?

Zoro states that, ?Playing Lenny?s music is like being an actor and I thoroughly enjoy getting in character for each tune because they are all truly different roles with a plethora of subtleties that are the secret to his sound. I have always loved the diversity of feels in Lenny?s music and it is great to have a home for all those grooves that are inside of me and a place to really rock. It?s a real blessing and I am thrilled to be back with my old pal!

Lookout for Zoro with Kravitz on a variety of upcoming concerts, television appearances, and in the video for the first new single from Baptism entitled, ?Where Are We Running.? Check out www.zorothedrummer.com for the latest scheduled events.

bye

La blackman ha suonato solo nei tour di "Are you gonna go my way" e "Circus", non sugli album.
