Incomparable sound, high quality hardware and unique look: that is “Olivetree”,
the new snare drum series recently launched by Pearl into the Japanese market.
Its name leaves no doubt about the features of this series: 2,7 cm (1.06 in) thick olive shells, handmade by Drum Art. This shell makes the snare drums extremely sensitive, allows a wide range of tones and gives an exceptional sound: warm, balanced, versatile, with a really high projection. Also the look is unique, because of the natural striping of the olive.
Drum Art uses only first rate olive from South Italy, painstakingly selected in order to reach the best fibers and sounds. The manufacturing process takes long time and is very careful, with a great deal of quality-control to respect the severe standards established by Pearl. Producing for one of the most important firms in the world requests the greatest effort to meet the quality expectations.
The shells are handmade by the techniques and the secrets of the wood craftsman Silvano Biancucci, the soul of Drum Art. Each shell is a unique piece, in which everything is taken care of, from the turning of staves to peculiar bearing edge, to give the drummer a very special snare drum.
